It's a good time to be in the flag business
It's the diamond jubilee this weekend and the country has literally got so many Union Jacks around the country that you can see them from space. Here are just a few examples in the 100 sq ft around my apartment in London.
I may be using my extra two days holiday to go to NYC, but I will be waving my flag with pride. Makes me think about all the great reasons for being british.

To Market To Market
London has amazing markets from food to antiques to design. Today we hit up three of my favourites in East London: Columbia Road Flower Market, Brick Lane and Spitalfields.
(Again, sorry about the quality of photos, really have to get something else to take pictures with besides my phone)
Columbia Road Flower Market
Good for: Flowers (duh), decorative knickknacks, cool furniture, good coffee and baked goods
Wear: Flowery dresses, Mary Janes and hats
Brick Lane Market
Good For: Interesting street food, up and coming designers' clothes and accessories, vintage finds, outdoor drinking
Wear: Short dresses with combat boots or skinny jeans and band t-shirts
A great way to spend a Sunday!

Delicious cafe to get bagels, pastries and coffee!
It's easy to walk from Columbia to Brick Lane, on the way we came across this amazing pop up garden.

Round the corner from Brick Lane. It has great permanent boutique chain restaurants (oxymoron?) and shops. Visit on Sunday for its antique and clothes market! I've picked up many a necklace and clutch from this fantastic spot.
Good For: Antiques, vintage clothes, deserts and decorative pieces.
Wear: Whatever you want!
Quick stop off in Canteen for a Scotch Egg and Homemade Lemonade (and to rest feet)
A great way to spend a Sunday!

Fairies in a Jar
What an amazingly easy way to make a cool lighting affect!
Look how easy this is:
Take a Jar
Cut the top off 1-2 glow sticks and shake the content into your jar
Follow with diamond glitter
Seal lid and enjoy!
This would be such a great way to decorate and add atmosphere to an evening summer party. Inexpensive too!

Become a DJ
Someone at work sent me the link to 'incredibox'- a build your own barbershop come beatbox group. Choose the beats/ rhythm that you want your guys to play and hey presto! music.
This does become very addicting. But the best part, you can't make it sound bad! It makes you feel awesome and super talented.

Views from Edinburgh
Thought I would share a few pictures from my trip to Edinburgh! Sorry about the quality, really should get a camera that isn't on my phone.
Swan's on the flooded Leith!
Edinburgh skyline
We are here both days it was so good! Urban Angel has delicious breakfast and amazing cakes and teas. It is cozy and a perfect place to retreat from the weather in Edinburgh!
Delicious breakfast at Urban Angel!
Enjoying cocktails from teapots and wearing hats at The Roseleaf in Leith! Proper tea party but with alcohol

DODO Case
Personally, I'm not an ipad owner, but if I was, I would definitely get one of these.
DODO is working to keep the fine art of bookbinding alive while the world moves towards e-readers and ipads. They make it locally in San Francisco and each cover is handmade. It takes a lot of training to be a bookbinder and requires attention to detail. You know you will get a well crafted and durable piece of craftsmanship with one of these!
I saw someone on the underground the other day with a DODO case for her kindle and it looked goooood.
I'm thinking of getting a monogramed version for my dad on Father's Day!
